Their is a Big Foot

There is a Big Foot, and it's you and me.

Our Ecological foot print is not getting any smaller, but that doesn't mean there are people out there trying to make it happen.

Quotes of the Week

"Our new vision seems so shrunken, compared to past futures. Once we looked froward to creating legible, orderly cities, cleanly functioning societies and civilizations in space. Now we dream of wrinkle-free faces"

"The post-human "You-topia" described by Ramez Naamin which science serves up multiple options you can use to make your brain and body better than the next guy's"

Last Post of the Day, I Swear it

Today I saw a little bird that did not fly away even when I walked to close. I definatly looked ill, so i decided that i would make a little burrow under the low branch of a near by tree for it's death. But as I did this, several people walked by, the first four didn't even notice the bird, or at least made no indication of their knoledge of it. But the fifth person actually hit it with his stride, to which the bird flew back into the tree. I left at this point, but was totally apauled that people don't even notice a bird in their path!!!

Am I wrong to be shocked by this? Like the path is winter white, there is definatly no blending in or camoflage. It makes me so upset to think that people don't notice or don't care (about birds).

Bus Series#4 The Curse and the Blessing

The bus is a curse because you have to see people all the time, and if you see people all the time, you are eventually going to see some one you know. Unfortunatly Murfy's Law rules the bus world, and very often you see the person you don't want to see.
One tactic is to pull the "spaced out". This is where you act like you are so busy traveling that you don't really notice any one on the bus. Staring out the window helps, and those ads are great excuses.
However, this method is only appropriate if you are on the opposite end of a bus with many ppl in it. If the bus is too busy, try sitting in a seet that is farthest away and if possible in the opposite directon of gaze if said person were to turn around.
If neither of these tactics works or is not possible, acknoledge them and pull out some work and excuse yourself by saying you have to do some last minute things, so sorry.
If you have no work with you, then you'll just have to put up with talking to them. Hopefully your ride is short.

However, seeing someone on the bus can be a blessing. But those moments are more fun to experience than to tell!

Assenseur 3

You know how when you want to take an elevator, you press the button for the direction you are going in? Well of course you do. Some times some people press the down button when I want to go up, or the other way around. What I've noticed is when the elevator is going up (for example) and they are going down, they wont get on the elevator. Or if it is going up and they get on and so do I, but I am going down, they must always say to me "erm, i think we're going up" to which i reply, "that's oki, it'll go down eventually". What i dont understand is why people won't get on when it is the opposite direction, for it will take the same amount of time to get there. Or perhaps longer, since it will have to open the doors again.... I guess one could argue that another elvator will open first, but I have oberved this behaviour when only one elevator is present.
The more I think about it, the more I think I missed out on some childhood ediquette. I could see following these silly rules in busy malls, but not when one or two ppl are getting on...dunno.

Today's Lesson: What goes up, must come down.
